The End of Blog Silence – I’m a New Dad!

Last Friday morning at 10:17 AM, my daughter Madelyn came screaming into the world. It was a great moment. Since then I’ve been trying to stay caught up with work, learn how to change diapers (wipe down, not up on girls), and enjoy everything soft and cute about my little girl.

There are a lot of cliches that have become less cliche this week. I really do love the way she smells, and the noises she makes when she’s sleeping and stretching. I love how soft her cheeks are and the time is already going too fast.

As for Madelyn’s work with orphans, well, she has earned a total of $270 for kids less fortunate than her through the Alternative Baby Shower. Way to go Maddie!

She is absolutely the cutest…but I guess I’m biased. 🙂 I hope donations keep coming in on Madelyn’s behalf!!

  2. Awesome. Congratulations! I love it when *any* pants are too big. That’s a crazy place to be.

I’ll add to the cliches: Enjoy every moment and try not to think about what’s coming. Because before you know it she’ll be refusing to eat green beans and munching on crayons.

Oh, and the “wipe down” thing becomes second nature after a couple weeks.

  3. I am so happy for you guys! She is so adorable…and little!!!

You are right- it does fly by. Remember that all those sleepless nights when it feels like FOREVER until morning.

    Congrats again!!
